Canada's Real Estate: "Home" Options
Date Added: July 24, 2010 05:27:19 AM
Canada is full of extensive history, beautiful and diverse landscape, a vibrant people and culture. Within the past 10 years Canada has witnessed a speedy change and a phenomenal increase in interest both from the tourist sector and property investors, mostly as the country chose a market-oriented policy. Like most countries, Canada offers a wide range of "home" options. Here are some of the accommodations you may want to consider: - A room for rent. Some people who own a house or an apartment may rent out separate rooms in those dwellings. Yet, the bathroom(s) and the kitchen are shared by all tenants. - A studio apartment. These apartments are small-sized and were initially designed for just one person. Most consist of a single large room – that consists of a kitchen and a bedroom – and a separate bathroom. - An apartment. Larger apartments are also available. They can range in size from 1 to 3 bedrooms. They also have separate bathrooms, living rooms and kitchens. - A duplex. A duplex is a single house split into two separate living areas, each area being fully separate from the other. Still, the residents may have a shared yard or driveway. - A townhouse. Townhouses are small houses which are built in rows, so that they form a chain. Normally, they look similar. - A house. Homes of all shapes and sizes are available in Canada. You may have a home built specifically to your specifications on an available lot. - A condominium. Condos are essentially apartments or townhomes that are owned, not rented. Owners are responsible for all of the internal maintenance and care on the property and must pay property taxes. They also pay a condominium association fee which covers the costs of outside maintenance. Besides these options, you also need to decide whether you will live in a furnished or unfurnished "home". In Canada, you can find furnished houses and apartments. This means that all of the necessary furnishings are included in the living area, such as beds and chairs. Furnished apartments and homes may be a good option when you are immigrating to Canada from a distance, because the cost of transporting your own couches and beds could be rather pricey. Most people, nevertheless, decided on an unfurnished dwelling, so that they can decorate the way they wish. Some unfurnished homes and apartments will still include kitchen appliances, such as fridges and stoves. Yet, housing costs can vary greatly, even within the same province. You can save money on your housing, if you do some research and focus on areas outside of major cities.
